PNC Staff Headshots and Portraits

Great headshots can be as beneficial to nonprofits as they are to for-profit businesses, if not more.

I created a cohesive series of headshots and portraits for The Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center, a community focused nonprofit that provides a variety of social and essential services for people of all ages throughout Pawcatuck, Stonington, Mystic and Westerly.

Their services include a food panty, a community garden, meals on wheels, transportation services, utility assistance, baby supplies, a thrift store and host numerous events and functions that connect residents to each other.

I am inspired by the breadth of their reach and the problems they solve, so I offered to provide them with a group headshot session for their staff. We agreed to pursue a variety of images; staff headshots on solid gray (one of my favorite headshot backgrounds), staff portraits in their favorite area of The Center as well as bonus portraits of some of the volunteers that donate their time at the Food Pantry.

The Headshots

I love headshots on a solid gray background. Gray can complement every complexion under the sun, it’s easy to light and works well for a variety of end uses. Headshots on gray stand out well when shrunken down as a little email or social media avatar. At the same time, they can look good against the bright white backgrounds of most websites and are an eye catching addition to marketing and branding materials. Its uses are endless.

The Portraits

Seeing the PNC from the perspective of its staff gave me a great appreciate for the variety of services offered by the Center. The Thrift Shop, Transportation Bus and the offices that keep it all working were on display. You can tell that everyone working there cares deeply about their mission.

The Food Pantry and its Volunteers

I also put together a series of portraits of the volunteers that staff the Food Pantry. So many nonprofits depend on devoted volunteers like these to make their mission come to life.

One thing I love about life as a professional photographer is the unique way I can support organizations that are doing important work.

A clean, cohesive series of staff headshots can help a nonprofit educate the public about the people behind the mission and introduce the nonprofit to potential beneficiaries. They can also add a level of professionalism in the eyes of prospective donors that are conducting further research about a nonprofit.

I always love to help great organizations look their best. Reach out to me if you are interested in headshots or portraits for your nonprofit.
