Shorepoint Headshot Session
Shorepoint wanted to include more members of staff on their About page and needed the new headshots to match the set that had already been created for their team of founders. Their Vice President was referred to me by a previous client as a photographer that could match the new with the old set of headshots quickly and easily.
Referrals are one of my favorite ways of meeting new clients. Great people generally know and refer other great people, as was the case with this session.
The original headshots were evenly lit with some contrast but plenty of fill light, shot on a bright white background and converted to black and white. Great material to work from.
The session took place during the heart of pre-vaccine covid so we made sure to setup a safe working environment in one of their conference rooms. We kept it to me and the staff member being photographed as opposed to the usual hangout session that naturally happens during staff headshots. Mask on for me throughout the entirety of the session and masks off only for the subjects when we were ready to create their headshots.
I had a great time creating these images. It’s not too often that I get to work with black and white in mind from the outset. I think I should make an effort to work with black and white in mind in the future.
The “post” Covid version of my business is more focused on headshots, portraits and branding, and helping organizations like Shorepoint build a clean and cohesive catalog of images on top of their pre-existing materials is what makes this chapter so rewarding.
